Craggy Krabi

I just ❤ Krabi, there's something about its majestic limestone karsts standing proud and tall above the mangroves. It's a set right of a movie scene and the drive there was pretty amazing.

However, once you're in Krabi town, you're swept into traveller mode and spend the evenings trawling the endless markets and sampling the tasty treats it has to offer. I'm doing a quick stop over en route to Bangkok, so I'll be mindful to get some snaps of the day and night market and the phenomenal (and oh so cheap) street food it has to offer.

My visit was brief and I was keen to fit in as much as possible, so i signed up for seven island sunset BBQ boat trip. You never know what you are going to get on these types of trips, but this one, ran curtesy of Marion Tours (so good, I remembered the name!) was fab. Apologies now, but I don't recall all of the islands and sights we visited, but I'll butt in as and when I do.

20151105-161858.jpg This is Tup Tup island, to call it an island is a bit of a grand statement, but it was a idyl of loveliness. I remembered its name on three accounts – 1: it is part of the national park and we had to pay a £4 entrance free (we were apparently lucky as the charge increased to £8 come tomorrow – the joy of travelling shoulder season, 2: I used to frequent a bar of that name in my youth, and 3: I took a picture 😉

20151105-162609.jpg Next… Well can you guess what this island is called?

20151105-162659.jpg Yep, Chicken island – obviously!

Amidst all the island hopping, there was plenty of swimming, snorkelling and rock climbing moments – testosterone fuelled young, and old, men clambered the karsts to see who could find the highest point on which to dive from. But the highlight of the day was as the sun was about to set – stunning, absolutely stunning; this surely my favourite experience to date x #thisiswhyitravel #ilovethailand
